Compressed Sheeting

Compressed sheeting provides protection against spillage and leakage. Compressed sheeting prevents shocks and reduces vibrations, and is often used to provide traction for vehicles, especially when there is a chance of spillage of liquid material. Compressed sheet gaskets feature an excellent resistance to chemicals, making them exceptional seals for many applications. Compressed sheet gaskets are used to channel many fluids: brine, water, acid, air, oil, alkali, and refrigerants.

Compressed sheet gaskets feature good recovery, torque retention, minimal creep relaxation, and excellent heat resistance. They are created from high tensile strength synthetic fibers, which are bonded with a number of rubber compounds. Compressed sheet gaskets are often manufactured with high-quality aramids or carbon fibers with a nitrile binder. Compressed sheeting is commonly used to manufacture gaskets, seals, and similar products. Natural rubber poly-isoprene has excellent mechanical properties, such as high rebound and resilience. Compressed sheeting exhibits a good resistance to acids, salts, and alkalis though it is not suitable for use with oil or hydrocarbons. It is also used for its anti-stick properties and safety profile.

Compressed rubber sheeting can be chemically treated to resist corrosive substances. EDPM rubber sheets can handle many corrosive chemicals and acids (but not oils). However, nitrile compressed sheeting with acrylonitrile butadiene has good mechanical properties and resistance to oil. It can withstand temperatures from 32°C to 123°C. Compressed sheet gaskets are manufactured from a wide variety of fibers with a polymer matrix to withstand a huge variety of caustic chemicals and temperatures.
